Today's Scheduled Run: 5 mile Tempo @ 6:40. As soon as I started, I realized this wasn't practical, so I switched to 7:00 pace. I drove down from my hilltop perch into the village of New Milford, looking for (and finding) flatter terrain. The first 2.5 miles of my run went off without too much of an issue, but the second 2.5 was an exercise in just trying to maintain forward progress. My pace fell off considerably and I was remarkably short of even my altered goal. I need to re-evaluate my pace goal at this distance, perhaps shoot for 7:15-7:20.
