A Bit Achy

My shins are bothering me more today than over the past few weeks. It is a general soreness along the front, no really sharp pains. I have been consistently icing after each run. It is annoying more than anything else. I debated resting today, but since I was only going 3 miles I decided to suck it up and get out there.

Mileage: 3.00
Time/Pace: 26.42/8:54
Avg Heart Rate: 153

Temp: 66
Weather: Sunny

This guy shows some of the stretches that they taught us during track to keep from shin splints and treat post shin splints. Keep going rock star!

  2. i have you consulted a physician? i specifically chose my pcp because he's a sports medicine doc - he treats the duquesne basketball team here in pittsburgh. i'm always amazed at how he diagnoses and treats my minor aches. the best thing is that i almost always appear textbook!

i'm sure you're getting lots of advice, but i'm throwing in my 2c: i've been trying to sit japanese style, seiza, because it stretches the tibialis, both anterior and posterior. i don't know if it is directly responsible, but recently running has become a lot less painful.

    feel better!
